OPENING OF ACCOUNT :
  1. Any person approved by the Bank may open a Saving Bank Account agreeing to comply with rules governing such accounts.

  2. An account may be opened :

    • By person in his own or,

    • By more than one person in their joint names, the amount being payable to all of them jointly or to either or to any one of them or the survivor amongst them. Specific instruction in this regard is required to be given in writing at time of opening account or,

    • In the name of a minor by his natural guardian i.e. father or mother on behalf of the minor or by a guardian appointed by Court. A minor for whom a guardian is appointed by the Court attains majority on completing twenty one years of age, otherwise he will be deemed to attain majority on completing eighteen years of age. Before opening of a minor’s account, the guardian must give a declaration as to the date of birth of minor.

    • A person, otherwise found eligible to open an account shall requires two(2) copies of his recent passport size photographs to the Bank.

    • If an illiterate or a blind person wants to open an account, he may do so provided his thumb impression and two copies of passport size photographs duly attested officer or by two persons, well known to the Bank are produced. At the time of each withdrawal he will have to remain personally present at the Bank and produce the withdrawal from with the thumb impression attested by a gazette officer or person well known to the Bank. No cheque book is provided to such account holders.
